Not everyone can afford to constantly subscribe to half a dozen or more streaming services just to get their British TV fix – and even if you do, there are some shows that genuinely aren't available via any paid subscription services in the US right now. 

In this list, we'll take a look at a variety of British and British-adjacent (AU, CAN, etc. ) comedies you can watch on legal, free-with-ads streaming services. We do not include any of the sites with pirated shows people have stolen and uploaded.

At Last the 1948 Show – This sketch series preceded Monty Python's Flying Circus, and included several cast members. Tubi

Bromwell High – 2005 – This animated comedy follows a group of naughty schoolgirls at an under-funded South London secondary school. Pluto

Budgie – 1971 to 1972 – Pop star Adam Faith (Love Hurts) starred in this series about a recently released prisoner who always manages to find trouble. The first four episodes were filmed in black and white due to the ITV Colour Strike of late 1970 to early 1971. Tubi, Vudu, IMDb TV

The Colour of Magic

The Colour of Magic – 2009 – This series is based on the Discworld series of novels by Terry Pratchett, and features Sean Astin as tourist Twoflower alongside Sir David Jason as wizard Rincewind. Doc Martin

Doc Martin – 2004 to present – Martin Clunes (Men Behaving Badly) stars in this comedy about a brilliant but grumpy London surgeon who suddenly develops a fear of blood. He leaves his high-flying career and takes a post in a Cornish fishing village where he spent holidays as a child with his Aunt Joan. Doctor at Large – 1971 – Bill Oddie, John Cleese, Graham Clapham, and a number of other British comedy greats were involved in the script for this short-lived series about a group of newly-qualified doctors heading to work.
