new shows coming to britbox december 2020

If you're a period drama fan, you're going to love December's premieres over at BritBox.  In addition to a relatively normal set of holiday additions, they're adding 75+ classic period dramas to the library next month. It's a great way to end this very…interesting…year.

Of course, we're most excited about FINALLY getting the Vicar of Dibley Christmas specials. It will be the first time we've seen them available to stream anywhere.

Don't have a BritBox account? You can sign up for one HERE on their website, or HERE on Amazon Video. If you have a Roku Smart TV, Roku device, Amazon Fire device, or Chrome, you should have no trouble signing up for a direct subscription on their website. If you have a different kind of smart TV, you may find it easier to subscribe through Prime Video and use the Amazon Video app on your smart TV. Feel free to ask questions in the comments.

Carols from King's 2020

Each year, the King's College Chapel Choir performs a carol service from the medieval chapel of King's College. It begins with “Once in Royal David's City” and always includes a newly-commissioned carol for each year. BritBox has noted that it's unclear what impact, if any, the pandemic will have, and more information will be forthcoming.

Vicar of Dibley Christmas Specials

Vicar of Dibley Christmas Specials

Queen's Christmas Message 2020

Each year on Christmas Day, Queen Elizabeth speaks to the public. Given all that's happened this year, it should be particularly interesting to see what she has to say.

Nothing says “British Christmas” like a foul-mouthed, crossdressing Irishman. BritBox is expecting this one on the platform on Christmas day, but they've also warned that it could be impacted by the pandemic.
